Ipsy August 2017

Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that is $10 per month. It contains 5 sample, deluxe sample, or a rare full sized product in each bag. It tends to contain more makeup products and tools. You can see what I have received in past bags here,  here,  here,  here, and here.

The theme this month is Good Vibes Only. There were 3 different bags this month. I also picked one of my samples for August. Ipsy now has a sample choice but they don’t make it obvious!

Yadah Silky Fit Concealer BB Power Brightening in Light Beige – This sheer-to-medium coverage fluid evens out your complexion (so it’s like your skin, but better!) with a super natural-looking, semi-matte finish. You can skip layering on anti-aging creams and SPF: both are thoughtfully included in the formulation. I’m not a huge fan of BB creams because I need more coverage than they provide. I will certainly give this a try though.

Vitamasques Yoghurt Mask Duo – The Strawberry Yoghurt Mask has (you guessed it) strawberry and yoghurt extract to smooth and illuminate.  The Kiwi Yoghurt Mask works to soften and revitalize thanks to (mhm) kiwi and yoghurt extracts. You will never hear me complain about getting a mask in one of my subscriptions. I love a good mask. Actually, I requested that these be in my bag this month.

Glamour Dolls Romantic Rose Blending Brush – The rounded shape of the bristles reaches all the surfaces of your eyelid and crease, and super-soft fibers make application comfortable. That pretty rose gold-accented handle is the perfect thickness and weight for easy handling and maneuvering. I am always pleased to see a brush in my bag as well. I enjoy trying new brushes because I have gotten some nice brushes in my bags and boxes.

Pacifica Coconut Blush Duo –  This duo from Pacifica offers two uber flattering shades: Beaming, a muted terracotta and Tenderheart, a soft mauve. Wear them separately or layer them to create a custom hue. Coconut is an actual ingredient, which means built-in, glow-getting, and anti-aging properties. The shades are totally buildable. Try a quick swipe for a subtle hint of color or pack it on for a bold, draping effect. These shades look gorgeous but I already have so many blushes that it is hard to get excited about it.

theBalm Cosmetics theBalm Voyage Vol. 2 Eyeshadow in Willkommen or Kuwakaribisha  – Famous for their triple-milled pigments and anti-aging ingredients, theBalm is one of our fave go-tos for gorgeous, cruelty-free products. I already have this palette so I don’t need this as a single.

Ipsy also has a points program. You get points each time you review a product and your bag overall. You get about 50 points per month and the samples you can use the points for are between 200 and 1000 points. The best I can save up is around 500. I had enough to use last month and they had something I really wanted.

Korres Brightening 24-Hour Moisturizer – Moisturizing and brightening cream, with wild rose oil, a natural source of vitamin c, helps repair the look of fine lines and skin discolorations. I received a sample of another product in this line and loved it enough to include it in  5 Faves November 2016, I am thrilled to get this for free.

I am not super excited about my bag this month. I am looking forward to using the masks but I did pick them. I am always happy to get new brushes to try. The BB Cream is not something I use regularly. I already have the eyeshadow and I have more blushes than I can ever use. I give this month’s Ipsy bag a 2/5. Other than the masks, nothing wows me.

Do you subscribe to Ipsy? What did you get this month? Were you happy with it? If you want to try it out I would appreciate your using my link.  I get points if you do. I have had my subscription for about 2 years and I think it is a pretty good deal overall. I like a lot of what I receive and love getting to try new things.

    1. Oh I don’t have my Ipsy bag yet. It says I should have received it on the 8th. I know what I’m getting so I wrote the post and will add my picture of the bag when it finally gets here. It feels like my subscription come later every month.
