Best of the Boxes December 2016

This wasn’t the best month for my subscription boxes/bags. I was really disappointed with the  December Boxycharm. For the first time, nothing from that box made this list! Ipsy was my favorite this month and I am also including a sample from the November bag that I just tried this month. I will start with it.

Nuxe Anti-aging Night Serum Nuxellence Detox – This silky smooth serum purifies and detoxes. After a few uses, our skin looked luminous and well-rested—even after an all-nighter. Stimulates circulation in our skin and leaves us with a lasting glow. Quick fix. Fast-absorbing formula never feels oily. Works for all skin types and all ages. I am really liking this serum! I like to use serums in both my A.M. Skincare Routine and my P.M. Skincare Routine. This is a nice addition to my nighttime routine. It is a lotion-like serum and it is quickly absorbed by the skin. It makes my face feel very soft and smooth.

From the December Ipsy Ciaté London Liquid Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Pin Up – We’re matte about it. One of the most comfy liquid lipsticks we’ve ever tried.  And trust us, we’ve sampled hundreds here at ipsy HQ. Creamy and moisturizing, it dries down to a soft finish that lasts and lasts. Berry nice. Purplish-pink shade looks fan-freaking-tastic with any skin tone. Hyaluronic acid conditions lips (buh-bye, dryness and flaking) and makes them appear fuller and smoother. Stay inside the lines. Precision tip makes it easy to apply and totally goof-proof, even for liquid lipstick newbies.  Y’all know how much I love lip products so I tried this immediately! This time Ipsy sent an email letting you choose a product to get this month from a list. This was on the list so I picked it and I am glad I did. The color is gorgeous and I really like the formula. It’s long lasting and isn’t drying. I am very happy with this sample.

Also from Ipsy NYX Professional Makeup Prismatic Shadow in Jaded – Razzle dazzle ‘em. We’re in awe over how pigmented this shadow is, delivering rich color with gentle metallic shimmer in a single swipe.Go it alone. No primer necessary to turn on the glitz and get a look that lasts.Standout formula. Soft texture makes the shadow easy to blend, without flecks falling onto our cheeks.  Jaded is a cool green shade that seems almost silver in the right light, and gorgeous in every light. This is a beautiful shade and NYX eyeshadows are very good quality.

From Birchbox Ardency Inn  Modster Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner Travel-Size  – What’s travel-ready, takes up hardly any room in your bag, and completely changes your makeup game? This versatile eyeliner duo. The burnished gold makes for a smoldering look (just smudge it for a sultry effect), while the black is as classic as it gets. Just as impressive is the creamy, waterproof formula that helps the liner glide onto skin and stay there.  I received the black one in my box. I tried it and I really like it! It is creamy and so easy to use. I prefer liquid eyeliners because they go on so easily but this is almost that good.

Ipsy seems to have been the best box/bag this month. There are several products in the December Birchbox that I just haven’t had time to try that may show up in a future post.Boxycharm had some great products. They just weren’t for me. The Ofra lip color was a dark, metallic purple that just isn’t a shade I would ever wear. The eyeshadow palette was nice but I already have several with similar shades.
