September Empties

Fall is here so this is the last of my summer items. Next month will have heavier, creamier products to protect skin in cooler weather. I like fall but I hate that it reminds me that winter is coming. Brrrr. September was about the bath and body products and that is the bulk of my empties. I have mentioned here and here that I have hoarded bath and body products for years and now I am trying to use them up or throw them away if they are unusable. I will start with bath and body products since that is most of my empties this month.

BATH AND BODY

Mary Kay terme d’isola Moisturizing Body lotion – Hydrating body lotion, with the exclusive Mediterranean Complex, enriches skin with essential moisture. Sweet Almond, Apricot Kernel & Olive Oils; Chamomile Extract – Soothe and hydrate skin. Vitamin E derivative – Moisturizes and protects skin from moisture loss. Defends against free radicals. This lotion has been in my linen closet forever. Mary Kay doesn’t even sell it anymore. I am committed to using up all the shower gels and body lotions I have hoarded over the years. This month I will meet my goal of finishing either a body lotion or shower gel.This lotion had a fresh scent and did make my skin feel soft and smooth.

Caress Mystique Forever Shower Gel – Leave a lasting impression with Caress^® Mystique Forever™. Its breakthrough Fragrance Touch Technology releases bursts of Imperial Iris and addictive amber for up to 12 hours, captivating the senses and leaving others wanting more. I got this sample size in either a Walmart Beauty Box or a Target Beauty Box. Caress makes a great body wash. They are always moisturizing and produce tons of creamy lather. I didn’t care for this one because of the scent. It is just too spicy for me. I prefer light floral or fruity or green, fresh scents. My friend loved the scent though so it is a matter of what you like.

No greasy after feel.  If I could choose only 1 bath and body product this would be it.I cannot imagine living without it and if they ever stopped making it, I would be devastated. It makes my feet and yes, that includes my heels, look pedicure soft and smooth Every. Single. Day. Even in the winter, my skin feels like silk. No itching. No peeling. Just soft, smooth legs and feet. I love it so my much that a review of it was my first post . It is one of my absolute must-have products and I will always repurchase it and use it daily. Love it!!

Organic Surge Daily Care Comforting Hand & Nail Cream in Lavender Meadow – Lavender Meadow Hand & Nail Cream has an intensive moisturising action and is quickly absorbed to provide comfort and hydration. Enriched with organic lavender and geranium essential oils, and moisturising vitamin E, shea butter and cocoa butter, our hand cream works to prevent moisture loss leaving hands comforted and softened.  This came in one of my subscription boxes. I really enjoyed this hand cream. I have mentioned many times that I am a hand cream junkie so there is usually at least 1 empty each month like  July  and  August .  It smelled fabulous and was what I used before bed each night. It was easily absorbed into my skin and left my hands feeling super soft and smelling great. This is one I might purchase if I could find it in the U.S.

Bath and Body Works Pleasures Coconut Lime Verbena Creamy Body Wash – Infused with real coconut extract. Be whisked away to your very own paradise with this luscious blend of coconut, lime, and fragrant verbena warmed by vanilla and musk.  This scent is now only available in a hand wash. That’s too bad because it is a very nice scent. It smells fresh and sweet with a hint of citrus. It creates luxurious, rich lather that makes my entire bathroom smell good. This is another bottle that was in my linen closet and is part of what I am trying to use up.

HAIR CARE 

L’Oreal Root Rescue in 5G Golden Brown – Now You Can Rescue Your Roots At The First Sign Of New Roots Or Gray Regrowth In-Between Colorings. In Only 10 Minutes, Get Seamless Permanent Color From Root To Tip. I do my own hair color and this is a life saver. I absolutely hate having to do a full color. This product reduces how often I have to do that. About 4-5 weeks after I do a full color, I use this to touch up my roots. It is so simple and quick that I hardly mind doing it at all. I like the L’Oreal better than other brands because I prefer the bristle tip applicator. It lets me just brush the color on my roots. The coverage is good and it is a great product.

They were good for  2-4 uses. They actually did make my hair feel clean without leaving any heavy residue. I liked how my hair felt after using these products. What I did not like was the smell and that is a deal breaker. It was an odd smell that I could smell all day long. For that reason, I won’t purchase full-size versions of the shampoo or the creme rinse.

MAKEUP

It had this and a Tarte blush, a Smashbox primer, and some mascara. This was the star of that set for sure. I love this eyeliner! It goes on like a dream and stays all day long. The point is super sharp and allows me to apply a thin line. I have hooded eyes so my eyeliner can’t be too thick. This is great and I know that I will purchase it again someday. Assuming I don’t find something cheaper that works as well. This does retail for $22 so there are less expensive options.

SKINCARE

Dramatically Different™ Moisturizing Gel – Lightweight, oil-free hydration.Best for oilier skins, or use as your light summer moisturizer. This is my Holy Grail moisturizer. It is the best moisturizer I have ever used. It feels cooling when I apply it and immediately sinks into my skin leaving it so soft and smooth. It never feels greasy or heavy. I have already repurchased.

Goddess Garden Erase the Day Mineral Removing Cleanser – Gently lift and wash away impurities, mineral sunscreen and makeup without any harsh scrubbing! Mineral-rich French clay attracts impurities like a magnet, while providing necessary nutrients. It leaves your skin soft, clean and nourished, with a tightening effect that minimizes pores and promotes smooth skin. Erase the Day is also gentle enough for nightly use on all skin types. I received this sample foil packet from Pinch Me. I was able to get 2 uses out of it and used it on consecutive nights. My very first impression was how terrible it smelled. It did not smell organic at all. It is a weird textured light green cleanser. It did not lather at all. Neither did it clean my skin. It left my skin feeling tacky and dirty. I would never buy this.

MISCELLANEOUS

Mini Grooming Razor – I discovered these little gems on YouTube. My local Walmart carries them and a 3 pack is around $3. These little razors are good to trim your eyebrows and any other facial hair. I still have 2 left from the package of 3 I purchased. I will buy these again because they are very handy to have around.

Wow, this month’s empties included 2 of my Holy Grails and 1 all time favorite product. I have already repurchased my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and Skin So Soft Gelled Body Oil. I may repurchase The Stila eyeliner if I can’t find anythinhg else that I like as much. Plus, I used up 2 bath and body products out of my closet.Maybe someday I will have them all used!
